Dr. Nilanjan Sen is Associate Dean (Graduate studies) and Associate Professor of Banking and Finance at Nanyang Business School, NTU. He also concurrently holds an adjunct Associate Professor position at Lorange Institute, Zurich. Nilanjan received his Ph.D. from Virginia Tech and served as a faculty member at Arizona State University prior to joining NTU, Singapore.
Nilanjan has published extensively in academic as well as practitioner journals and currently teaches corporate and international finance. He has presented in several international conferences and presently works in the area of corporate governance and international dividend policy. Since joining Nanyang Business School in 2005, Nilanjan has provided leadership in several key initiatives. He was Associate Dean of Executive Programs over the period 2008-2014. He launched an innovative EMBA program in 2007 that includes several industry tracks and attracts funding from multiple professional bodies and government agencies. The Nanyang EMBA is currently ranked number 10 in 2015 Financial Times ranking for top 100 programs. The MBA program also has made substantial gains in both Economist (59) and Financial Times (29) ranking and consolidated its #1 position in Singapore. He has worked with several leading U.S. universities to launch various Advanced Management Programs, addressing industry specific needs. He has expanded the open and custom program portfolio that includes specialized program for banks and MNCs in one of the highest growing regions. Nilanjan efforts also include the development of an innovative tripartite model in business education that deploys customized curriculum and diversified funding to include private sector businesses, government and network ready graduates. The model seeks to build partnerships with key academic institutions and expand the ecosystem that can jointly serve the expanding global talent development needs.
Nilanjan has conducted training programs for several corporations, banks and government agencies, was the chief examiner for Certified Investment and Security Analyst Institute (CISA), Thailand, and has worked with several U.S. based preparatory programs for CFA examinations. He currently conducts executive training programs for Cornell-NTU Institute, Nanyang Executive Education as well as CFA review programs for the Financial Training Company. He is also the Academic Director of Nanyang MBA, Berkeley-Nanyang Advanced Management Program as well as India Desk at NBS. In 2004, he received the researcher of the year award from School of Global Management and Leadership, Arizona State University and best teacher award from the division of Banking and Finance, Nanyang Business School. He is the recipient of the Teacher of the Year award in Financial Engineering program in 2006 and EMBA in 2016. Nilanjan enjoys squash, hiking, traveling and meeting people from diverse cultures.
